When the new smartphone, the Galaxy S II, was launched, Samsung stated it was the greatest phone ever created. That was a very bold claim. But Samsung was right. They made a phone that could not be beat, on any front, by any phone from any manufacturer.

 

Handset recognition mobile site

To show off Samsung's supremacy, a mobile site was created which contained handset recognition. When the site was visited, the visitor's phone was detected and immediately placed in a head-to-head spec battle with Samsung's flagship handset. The visitor could then see how their current phone performed against Samsung Galaxy S II on 7 different areas: Screensize, processor, thickness, camera, memory, type interface and operating system

QR-code print campaign

Consumers could reach the mobile site through QR codes. Scanners would enter the battle immediately as the handset was detected as soon as the QR code was scanned.

 

These codes were deployed on various media, including outdoor, print and promotional material.
